Get Healthy & support music
ALL ABOUT PILATES has made a difference in my life. If you attend the Symphony League’s Sneak-a-Peek event you will see the proof of that statement.
I can dance around like the good ol’ days and I will prove it at the auction on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Arrowhead Country Club when I help to auction off the generous donations from people in our community.
The morning that I began soliciting donations I started my day with Pilates (7:30 a.m.). It was only natural that I ask them to help raise money for the Symphony League’s “Holidays for the Homes” Tour Sneak-a Peek auction.
(There just has to be a shorter way to say all that…..ANYWAY……)
Jill and Melanie put together a wonderful package for me. In the photo you can see the shirt and waterbottle. What you can’t see is the certificate for a Private Pilates Training and Two Cycling Rides. Yes, they have a Spinning Studio, too.
The retail value of this basket is $80. Folks who purchase their Sneak-a-Peek ticket for $60 will have a chance to bid on this basket and many others. Scroll down to see the last three blog postings about other donations.
I’ll be showing you more baskets in the coming week. Meantime, the Silent Auction items are adding up. You’ll be amused that they have a certain “piano theme”. Curt Bauer and Bruce Swartz have each promised a free piano tuning. Deanna Ziarko has promised a month of lessons WITH the new books. Mila Belakova, our own Russian Gem, has offered an evening of her lovely piano playing. Imagine what a hit your party could be with Mila at the keyboard! Batchelder’s Plummer Piano is offering “THE HOT CHOCOLATE” Special - you can sit inside their store window and watch the Parade of Lights, then attend the Nutcracker Ballet - and there’s a basket of goodies!
Other Symphony League members have provided fine wine with goblets, a 9 foot Fisher Travel Rod, gold jewelry, antique and almost-antique artwork. I’m still working on those!
I gotta run. Photos to take, things to collect.
Part of my duties as Auction Chairman is to
stop off with posters; yesterday I stopped in
at Bella Patina because they are decorating
one of the homes. Judy graciously showed
me around for a quick tour. Check out the
RED tree. Loved it!
This is going to be such a fun auction with a
few surprises for EVERYONE. Be sure you get
your Sneak-a-Peek ticket - that’s the $60 one
with the crushed diamond cover.

You’ve got a very nice and interesting post here, my friend. I always feel glad whenever I encounter people who have the same passion and love for music like what I actually have. I also admire your efforts to share your bright ideas on music education - lending a hand to make a difference, helping communities and organizations to come up with great and unique activities or events for a good cause. Your noble works will surely pay off. Your post on piano teacher resources are really very useful and necessary. Thanks again and more power. See you around. Cheers! By the way, may I have that basket from All About Pilates in Rapid City? That seems worth keeping and bringing home. (Laughs…)
