Mad Mary’s open, but for sale

By Barbara Soderlin

A while back people had been asking if Mad Mary’s Steakhouse had reopened. I talked to Mary Arch today and she said they opened Aug. 1 (sorry the news is coming so late to this blog). The restaurant had been closed and for sale for about two and a half years, she said, and they reopened because she thought it would be easier to sell if it was in business with a staff and customers and everything.

She has another Mad Mary’s in Pierre and said it was just getting too hard to run both locations. Her daughter is helping run the Black Hawk location for now. The restaurant is at Exit 48 (go north) and is still serving its steaks, prime rib and more.

“There’s a limited menu, but we do well with what we do,” Mary said.

The building, business and land are listed for $249,900. If you can’t afford that, there’s a six-ounce filet special for $9.95. Something for every budget.

Dinner seating begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Call 787-6400.
