Mad Mary’s Steakhouse to reopen

Monday, July 13th, 2009

This just in… from my Northern Hills colleagues:

STURGIS – The owner of a popular Black Hawk steakhouse plans to re-open the business by July 29.

Mary Arch appeared before the Meade County Commission July 7 to apply for two retail on-off sale beverage licenses for Mad Mary’s Steakhouse. One was a malt beverage license, and the other was for wine. The commission quickly and unanimously approved both applications.

Half of the Deadwood bars checked by police on Saturday sold alcohol to minors.

Wow.

The sellers were:

  • Four Aces Casino
  • Mustang Sally’s
  • Miss Kitty’s
  • Silverado
  • Mineral Palace
  • Lucky Nugget
  • Diamond Lil’s

All Deadwood stalwarts. Does Deadwood have a problem with this? Or was this a quirk?

Deadwood’s Old Style Saloon No. 10 is for sale — UPDATED

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

By Jeremy Fugleberg

A Deadwood icon is going up for sale.

The Old Style Saloon No. 10 is for sale, for a reported $10.5 million. The sale would include the saloon,  the Utter Place next door, and the Deadwood Social Club upstairs.

This is a thunderbolt of a sale for the Deadwood downtown. The venerable watering hole has been around forever, and in the Keehn family for the last 45 years.

More news about this as I get it.
